[Extract from County Times] Cindy had met boys from the Horsham Sea cadet unit who formed the guard-of-honour. Staff at Horsham's Mecca have joined with the cadets in a fund-raising appeal to raise about £800 to provide instruments for the unit's band.
Since a break-in at their Denne road headquarters five years ago when instruments were stolen and vandalised, the unit has had no band.
But on Wednesday they were launched on their way back to having a 30 piece band when a Manchester music company donated a bugle to give the unit a head start.
Presenting the bugle was Cindy, and there to receive it was the unit's commanding officer, Lt Maurice Remnant.
